We first got together in 2014 and quickly bonded over our shared love for animals, adopting our two ferrets, Kuda and Pippin, in 2016. Our ferrets were just the start of our journey into holistic pet health, looking for ways to prevent adrenal cancer and insulinoma that affects 50%-70% of ferrets over the age of 3. While Brandon has always had an interest in the benefits of mushrooms, our ferrets passed before his research into functional mushroom supplements took off. In 2021 we adopted our two cats, Lou and Sylvie. Their well-being became our number one focus, and mushrooms lead us down a path we continue to follow.

We first met in Austin, Texas in 2015, just after Dan had adopted our first dog, Cairo. In 2017, we moved to the Pacific Northwest and were a family of three until 2020 when we welcomed Lenca into our home. Unfortunately, Cairo struggled with allergies for years, and our attempts to manage them had been unsuccessful. In 2023, Cairo was severely attacked by another dog, and we almost lost her. It was then that we discovered the health benefits of functional mushrooms, which helped improve Cairo's immune system and alleviate her skin allergies.

The four of us became fast friends through our shared love for animals, nature and a healthy lifestyle. Dan and Brandon instantly bonded over mushrooms and their many practical applications. Brandon became Dan's mentor and gave him more insight into the world of fungi. After Cairo’s attack, we knew it was time for us to start doing some serious research into pet health supplements to ensure all of our animals could live their healthiest lives. And here we are now!
